Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway (MTR) or metro line is the #1  biggest carrier in the city to transport people from one place to another places. It is under MTR Corporation Limited which is a publicly listed company on the Hong Kong stock exchange. Light Railway Terminal (LRT), also operate under Mass Transit Railway (MTR) corporation, it covers facility for New Territories like Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, and Tin Shui Wai areas, etc. Taxi stands are available in most of the wider railway stations specially for New Territory, however, old stations are also available for the major gates.

Octopus, a value-stored card, is popular in Hong Kong to pay the MTR fare more than 98% of people who ride train use octopus cards. Every station, equipped with ticket vending machines, especially tourists who don’t have octopus, can use coins or notes in the vending machine to get tickets or take tickets directly from the customer service counter. Children aged 3-11 are eligible to use Child octopus that can use MTR and Public double-decker buses. Likewise, adults age 65 or above can use Adult octopuses. Both Child and Adult octopuses have a half-price deduction.

MTR Schedule

Hong Kong Metro is very efficient, mainly Hong Kong line Tsuen wan line frequency is less than 5 minutes. The MTR line starts from about 5:30 am till about 1 am on a typical day. MTR Airport Express Line

The Airport Express line starts from morning 5:50 am to 1.15 am. It leaves every 10 minutes and It takes about 28 minutes to reach the airport. The Stations are Central, Kowloon, Tsing Yi, Airport, and Asia World Expo. The regular fare by the octopus is HK$110. For the tourist, you may not have an octopus, you can pay cash and get the ticket from the customer service counter or the vending machine.
