Light Rail Transit, also known as LRT, runs Tuen Mun and Yuen Long  Hong Kong’s New territories. It started operation in 1988. Mini electric rail runs by a direct power supply which is pollution-free. It operates under the MTR Corporation.

Currently, the Light Rail service covers 12 routes and 68 stops like Tin Shui Wai, Tin Yat, Tuen Mun, Tuen Mun Town Centre, Yuen Long, and many more. Some of the light rail stops are next to the MTR and the Public Bus station.

Service Hours:

The Mass Transit Railway Corporation manages the LRT, so its hours of operation vary depending on MTR’s schedules. However, the regular opening hours are: 5.30 am to 01.00 am—the currency usage of the note in Hong Kong Dollar. Octopus is widely used to pay the charges by scanning the unit terminal. Alternatively, you can take a travel ticket using a vending machine by paying a coin or a note.
